hiatus

oh, the poor old blog, it's suffering, isn't it? my oh my! it seems i have quite a few folks who check in regularly, too. so thoughtful of you, to be thinking of me.

it seems i don't have much to say these days. there's lots on my mind, and lots going on with me, but really none of it seems interesting enough to post about. or perhaps it's more that i've just really moved on from this, to focus on other things.

either way, i guess what i'm saying is that i'm shutting down for awhile. not closing up shop, just taking a break. it has seemed rather thoughtless of me to have kept you coming back for more, just to find that nothing's new.

but really, i guess you just never know. giving myself permission to take a break might just be what i need to get things going again.

favourite corners

in our new house:


we are really enjoying our new (new) house... yes, we ended up buying a different one than we originally intended to buy. this one suits us so much better and we feel as though we've been living here forever. sheldon has posted lots of photos on facebook, but i have been inspired (thanks, kathy!) to post just a few at a time, to show off some of my favorite corners. the idea also came from amanda soule, aka soulemama, who originated the corners of my home flickr pool. many of you will likely also be inspired by her book. i know i am.

so, i'm off for now... the sewing room needs setting up!

greenwood

we've arrived in the east. the valley sunshine is warm and inviting. we're slowly adjusting to our new lives and trying to find some routine to our days.
i think we're gonna like it here.

overstimulated

oh my. the mall of america is huge. and it's saturday, so it was filled with people.
eliot didn't know what to do with himself, so he cried almost the entire time we were there.
colby and maya enjoyed themselves, and as a bonus they were very well behaved. the lego store and the underwater aquarium were highlights for them.
i was completely overstimulated. too much noise. too many people. too many stores. too many lineups. i have downsized and i am content with that. i didn't buy anything other than a meal and some good quality toys that i'm quite sure the children will get a lot of use from.
i didn't even want to go into any stores. i will be quite happy with the zellers in greenwood or the old navy in halifax.
right now i'm enoying the quiet. and thinking that driving across the country is far easier than navigating the mall of america on a saturday afternoon.

on the road

this morning we bid a fond farewell to our little house on the prairie. i am glad to say goodbye to moose jaw, but i'm also glad to have spent some time there. moose jaw was good for me.

we're in fargo, north dakota, tonight, and we're headed to the mall of america tomorrow.
